Just plop a few in a jug and it will stay cold for hours.

One of our stockists wrote and told me that her husband is a farmer and he LOVES them because when he’s out working the land he can now keep his drink nice and cold for ages. He was the envy of all of his farmer friends, who all went to my stockist to purchase.

This would also be great for those that are outside for a long time playing sport.

There are a number of recipes around for making home-made rusks for your teething baby. Often the dough is much stickier than regular cookie dough, due to the nature of the ingredients.

VERY IMPORTANT: When feeding your baby rusks make sure they are sitting in an upright position and watch them very closely in case of chocking.

This is just as relevant with all finger foods and should not be avoided, but only preceded with caution.

There is no recipe that guarantees that little pieces won’t fall off or crumble. People tend to have different experiences of the same recipe. So just experiment and see what works for you and your child.

We would recommend filling the Freezer Pod almost to the top with doe. So that your baby is able to easily hold the large rusk. Do not plan for them to eat the whole thing. Just gnaw on for a while and then disregard.

Eggless Baby Cereal Rusks

Ingredients:

1 cup flour

1 cup dry infant rice cereal with bananas (or other flavored or
unflavored infant cereal)

3 tablespoons cooking oil

ice water

Directions:

Preheat oven 200?C

Mix flour and cereal.

Gradually stir in oil. Mix a little ice water at a time (start with 1/4 cup) until dough begins to form a ball and pull away from the bowl.

Grease Freezer Pod thoroughly and then fill each pod almost to the top.

Bake for approx. 10-12 min. or until lightly brown. Cool completely.

Tasty Baby Rusks

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups flour

1/2 cup instant non-fat dry milk powder

1/2 cup wheat germ

11/2 tsps baking powder

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp salt

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup vegetable oil

1 egg

1/2 cup orange juice

Directions:

Combine flour, milk powder, wheat germ, baking powder, cinnamon and salt together.

In another bowl, combine sugar and oil. Beat in the egg and orange juice and gradually add flour mixture to make a stiff dough.

Refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.

Grease Freezer Pod thoroughly and then fill each pod almost to the top. Bake at 200?C for approximately 15 minutes or until golden brown. Turn off heat and let set until oven is cool.

This batch will make about 2 Freezer Pods worth and they freeze really well, just allow to thaw naturally before giving to baby.

It is so much easier to use than other plastic alternatives. As they are made out of silicone they will not snap under pressure and frozen food will pop out as easily as can be.

There are many other benefits to using Freezer Pods for freezing baby food.

But the thing that actually took us by surprise at first and has turned out to be one of the stand out features of Freezer Pods is that you can use it for years and years, for so many other purposes.

This provides exceptional value for money as the Freezer Pod becomes a well-used household item.

I hosted a cookie icing party once. Simple task of icing the cookies and decorating them with a selection of sweets and lollies. The Freezer Pod was fantastic for storing 9 different decorative lollies for the children to choose from. The kids had a great time and we didn’t need to have dozens of messy pots getting spilt all over the place.
